Direct Heat Interface Units are traditionally found to be most popular in Europe. However, with the increasing use of heat pumps in networks, underfloor heating and the drive to reduce network temperatures lower then Direct HIUs will increase significantly in popularity.

Hot Water

  • Domestic hot water (DHW) is instantaneous production
  • Domestic hot water (DHW) is Priority
  • DHW is indirect, heat is transferred though a PHE
  • Control of DHW is exactly the same as in HIPER II twin plate HIUs
  • Flow meter switches the diverter valve position
  • Temperature control range between 45°C and 65°C. Factory set is 50°C
  • Keep warm function is by temperature, and can be turned off if required
  • PID Controller modulates a stepper driven PICV to maintain set temperature

Heating

Heating is direct from the heat network into the radiators or underfloor heating circuits, so careful consideration should be given to system pressures and temperature. Users must not be allowed to have access to drain valves on this circuit as it affects the entire system. Additional shunt pump inside the station, so pump power from the plant room can be significantly reduced as the plant room pump will not have to deal with the pressure losses within the apartments.

Prepayment Billing

Available as a function within the controller and can be turned on without the need for an additional motorised shut-off valve installed.
